Desk work is not dangerous because of what it does to your body in a day. It is dangerous because of what it does over five years: head pushed forward toward the monitor, shoulders rounded, chest muscles shortened, and the muscles between your shoulder blades quietly losing the argument about posture. This massage, which kept its in-house nickname “Office Rat”, is the answer to that exact pattern.

What it works on

Your therapist covers the four areas sitting hits hardest: the neck and upper trapezius, the space between the shoulder blades, the chest muscles and the lower back. Releasing the overloaded muscles is only half the job. The other half is lengthening the shortened ones, because that is what lets the chest open and the shoulders sit back where they belong. Skip it and the tension is back within days.

How the session runs

We ask about monitor height, whether you work off a bare laptop, and which hand holds the mouse. The answers usually predict exactly where the tissue will be tightest. Through the massage we alternate release work and stretching, and at the end your therapist shows you two or three one-minute moves you can do at your desk. The people who actually do them keep the benefit for far longer.

Frequently asked questions

How is it different from a normal back and neck massage? In scope and emphasis. As well as releasing the back and neck we stretch the shortened chest muscles, work the lower back, and finish by teaching you two or three exercises you can do at your desk.

Can I pay with a benefit card? Yes. We accept Benefit Plus, Sodexo, Pluxee and Benefity.cz with no extra payment. Tell us at reception if you need a receipt for your employer.

How often is it worth coming? For daily computer work, every three to four weeks works well. What really decides it is whether you do the exercises in between. Without them the tension returns faster.
